Undivided loyalty

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.

James 1:5-6

Asking something from God often starts our brain into action. We make a request such as “heal my child” and then we beg the doctors to do something.  Going to doctors can be quite productive, but God wants us to rely on Him for what we ask with no divided loyalty.

God heals. God saves us from pain and attacks from our enemies. Faith requires undivided loyalty to this truth.

Anything short of an absolute expectation from God results in a feeling of being blown by the winds in the middle of an ocean without purpose or direction.  That feeling of loss is deep and depressing.

Have hope and know that God does what He says.  He tells us this over and over.  Take your worries, your anger, your sorrow and put it at His feet.

He can handle our pain and will respond in ways that we cannot comprehend.
