Sand and Roars

They will follow the LORD; he will roar like a lion. When he roars, his children will come trembling from the west.

Hosea 11:10

But everyone who hears these words of mine and doesn’t act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.

Matthew 7:26

When Jesus was alive, the people that heard him speak were astonished at his teachings. People left their jobs to follow him. They left their families and all they had accumulated to be part of his world.

To make the same change today in life, to leave everything to follow the Lord, would be unfathomable to most people. Yet, throughout the history of man, this concept of following God happens. There is a reason for it.

Life is difficult and for everyone of us, we know there is an end to life on earth. The death rate is 100%.

At some time in life, every person hears something from God. For some, it is a subtle nudge and for some it is like the roar of a lion. Either way, we know there is a being that is not human and we either accept or reject to get to know more of where this voice comes from.

For those that begin a life of seeking and listening to this voice and then following it, we find a life that is better than what we have known.

For the others, they choose a foolish life built on unstable sand.
