Perfect peace

I leave the gift of peace with you—my peace. Not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but my perfect peace. Don’t yield to fear or be troubled in your hearts—instead, be courageous!

‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭27‬ ‭TPT‬‬

And everything I’ve taught you is so that the peace which is in me will be in you and will give you great confidence as you rest in me. For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous, for I have conquered the world!

Peace and troubles/sorrows are a concept found only in God’s kingdom.  The world does not produce peace when trouble and sorrow is present.  The world provides counseling and hugs and drugs, but perfect peace is only found with God. 

In the midst of this messy life, God also wants us to display a confidence that comes with the courage that God’s promises are true. 

I was once in counseling and I inquired why the journaling I had been doing seemed to provide more answers than the counselor. 

In a bout of honesty the counselor explained that journaling connects me to God and the peace found there would result in the healing of all his patients - if they were to do this same thing.

That was the end of counseling for me and the acceleration of journaling where my mind focuses on God and I hear His voice loudly giving perfect peace while my world seems to create pain and suffering. 

I can courageously speak of Jesus, confident that tomorrow will not produce the disasters that the present circumstances indicate. 

Even in the midst of storms encircling me, I rest in Jesus - my battle is not found fighting the winds. Instead I will allow the angels to fight for me. My confidence is in the Heavens and I will be courageous and speak of the power there. Perfect peace is here.
