Men are like trucks

Men are like trucks. The heavier the load, the smoother the ride.

God loads the bed of a man’s truck with heavy burdens.  It is my life story.

When we think the bed is loaded and the springs will break, more is stacked on.  It is a struggle to understand.  But in spite of the load, the ride is smooth.  Springs don’t break.  Gas is in the tank and the truck moves forward. The destination is clear. We can see it just beyond the next few hills.  We just need the strength to get up the incline in front of us at the moment.  We got this.

In the meantime, in spite of the struggle, we are told to bear another’s load, even if that person hates us.

Therefore, we will happily bear another’s burdens as we must fear the day that we don’t as Jesus warns us.

Bring those burdens - the load is heavy.  We can bear more.  God makes it so. We am not under our own strength.  We get stronger and stronger because God gives us the ability to take on these burdens.  It makes no sense from the world’s view. But it is not the view from which we choose to see.

The destination is before us. The road is painful and slow.  The road narrows and the steepness increases.  But we are okay.  We got this - but only because God is driving the truck. We each make a good passenger.

Some decent verses:

Exodus 5 “If you see the donkey of someone who hates you lying helpless under its load, and you want to refrain from helping it, you must help with it.

Luke 11:46 (CSB)

Then he said: “Woe also to you experts in the law! You load people with burdens that are hard to carry, and yet you yourselves don’t touch these burdens with one of your fingers.

Galatians 6:5 (CSB)

For each person will have to carry his own load.

The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.

Psalm 121:7-8

Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord , Who  delights greatly in His commandments.

His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches will be in his house, And his righteousness endures forever.

He will not be afraid of evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established;

He will not be afraid, Until he sees his desire upon his enemies.

Psalm 112:1-3,7-8
