Eyes that focus on what is beautiful bring joy to the heart, and hearing a good report refreshes and strengthens the inner being.
Go ahead and make all the plans you want, but it’s the Lord who will ultimately direct your steps.
Before you do anything, put your trust totally in God and not in yourself. Then every plan you make will succeed.
The Lord expects you to be fair in every business deal, for he is the one who sets the standards for righteousness. One skilled in business discovers prosperity, but the one who trusts in God is blessed beyond belief!
Proverbs 15:30,16:1,3,11,20
This wisdom from Proverbs is easily ignored when business is cruising along and the day is
consumed in the rush of problems that we face every day. Slowing down to put God in the middle of the work day seems near impossible. Yet, these Proverbs seem to demand such a change in our work day. Otherwise the world directs the day. A few prayers and a few verses at the beginning of the day are sufficient to invoke the blessings of these verses.
When do we get to stop and focus on what is beautiful in the work day?
When do we stop as we work on the plan that a phone call requires a quick choice? Being experienced at business a decision becomes easy and natural. Yet, we make the call and then jump to the next thing.
God demands that we stop for a minute and place our trust in Him. Stopping to accomplish that change of heart in the middle of the 14 things on the desk seems impossible.
Success requires this. It defies logic. God always does.
