Forbidden Things

Live as one who has died to every form of sexual sin and impurity. Live as one who has died to the desires for forbidden things, including the desire for wealth, which is the essence of idol worship. When you live in these vices you ignite the anger of God against these acts of disobedience.

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭TPT‬‬

There are days that just stink in every way. From the moment you get up it seems like the world is against you.  We all have these days and it is not easy to get out of the funk.

We are left to wonder why God sets it up this way.  He created the universe and he created this day placing all the hurdles one by one in your way. It seems like a test.

If it is a test, I fail more than I succeed. The forbidden things jump out and entice desire.  They slowly creep their way into the soul.

As I age the battle becomes easier - but not easy.

The Bible says to fear God and it repeats this instruction a lot.   Yet fearing a loving God seems backwards.  That is until you have one of those bad days and then read this scripture in the midst of the forbidden things eating at your soul.

This scripture reminds us that our choices at such times result in igniting the anger of God. That is certainly something we should fear.

The only way to navigate the bad day potholes in life - the only way that works - open the Bible and let the Holy Spirit do what only the Holy Spirit can do.
